Transfers
Transfers are fast becoming our most popular service. They mainly comprise of 'tape to hard drive' as ingests for editing systems and then 'hard drive to tape' for creating the final masters.
Also popular are 'file conversions' where a media file may be shot @ 59.94i but the file needs to be @ 50i. Normally this can be achieved using software (mostly with unwanted artefacting) and takes some time to achieve. We do this in real time using 'file playback' through our standards converter to the 'file record' facility.
Transfers can also include 'file to file' with 'bug' insertion, 'file to file' with chromakey fill and so on.

'File to tape' can also include
Quality Control of various levels from 'watch and monitor' to a full '4 pass inspection and report'.
Also popular is 'XDCAM Disc to media file' in any format required by your editing system.

All file transfers can be made to be compatible with Avid, Final Cut Por, FCPX, Adobe, Edius, Vegas etc

We also specialise in 'data wrangling', where projects are shot on a multitude of formats and need to be compiled as the same single media format. This can also require timecoded DVD's of all the material for logging and transcribing purposes.

The COMPANY
Leffler Post survive by being resourceful and innovative, sometimes lending ourselves to radical new approaches for 'getting the job done'.
Apart from being able to 'create' from shooting, to editing, to distribution, in both broadcast high definition and 5.1 surround sound,
we can also provide extended services like mastering, digital transfers for most formats, to fixups and re-versioning of international film and television product; all within our own operation.

We have evolved and adapted to suit the times.

Nowdays it is more common for producers to have their own editing systems in the corner of their office and use our services to
offload video and audio onto their drives.
Then we get the final edit back to master out to a program tape as a finished product involving colourgrade, audio post and quality control to ensure full broadcast acceptance.

Leffler Post have an approach on post production that allows us to better manage our 'fixed price quoting' as our costs are more
controlled eliminating the "surprise" invoices that can regularly appear from other production service providers.
Just call or email us and we will try and fit into your budget.
COMPANY PROFILE
Leffler Post commenced operation in 1999 to supply production facilities and consultancy to the international television industry.
The company set up to be self sufficient obtaining the hardware necessary to complete all productions from start to master release.
Now centrally located in Crows Nest on Sydney’s lower north shore, its close proximity to North Sydney makes it convenient to the
advertising and television hub of Australia.
The main 'core' work is based on television commercials, television programs, corporate videos, web production and DVD/Blu-ray production.
Tape and data transfers including mastering also form a major part of the facility.

Contained within this post production facility are five non-linear production edit suites, audio post with voice over studio,
a linear production edit area and a centralised equipment room.
Production equipment includes location cameras, lighting and sound including portable HD outside broadcast facilities.

All the non-linear edit suites have access to HDCAM, Digibetacam, HDV, DVCAM, DVCPro25/50, MiniDV, one-inch videotape, SP Betacam,
Svhs/vhs, betamax, BVU, Umatic, Hi8, DA98, DAT, audiocassette, turntable and 1/4" audio formats.
The editing is performed in the digital domain and in the case of commercials mastered digitally to datadisk or direct FTP upload.

We have expanded in the adaption of total tapeless acquisition formats along with digital delivery and high definition Blu-ray integration.
High definition internet video is also high on the agenda including data casting and video/audio distribution worldwide.

about Baz Leffler
Baz commenced his television career in the early '70's working as a technical director in regional television.
He later helped set up and build some of Australia’s largest post production companies including ECV (Digital Pictures) and Videolab.
In late 1979 he and an associate set up Videopak, a television facilities and production company including a multi studio complex

During this time he was also instrumental in designing and manufacturing computer-editing equipment for film and television sold worldwide.
This involved frequent trips overseas studying and investigating trends in television production and techniques.

After returning to Australia he has been operating post production facilities companies specialising in commercials, programs and corporate videos.
In the early days he pioneered the use of computer non-linear editing in commercial production, which had enabled him to present 'professional' TVC's at realistic prices.
